Dr. Frank Schwenter is a digestive surgeon at CHUM, where he is particularly dedicated to treating patients with colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer and is affecting increasingly younger individuals. When detected early, the survival rate exceeds 90%. However, it drops significantly once the disease has spread in the form of metastases.

Alongside his surgical career, Dr. Schwenter has pursued a professional path as a cellist and continues to perform in concert. Together with one of his patients living with colorectal cancer, he founded D’Art et d’Espoir, an initiative that brings together patients, colleagues, friends, and all those who feel connected to its mission each year: to support research in digestive cancers.

Music has the unique power to bring people together, to create meaningful connections, and to express what words sometimes cannot. Here, it becomes a universal language carrying hope, solidarity, and humanity.

Beyond the D’Art et d’Espoir benefit concert, this fundraising platform offers an opportunity to support the cause at any time of the year through a spontaneous donation. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps advance research on digestive cancers at the CHUM.

Thanks to the donations collected throughout the year and the proceeds from the concert donated to the CHUM Foundation, we hope to reach our goal of $30,000.

Thank you for contributing to advancing research and carrying hope even further.
